This Privacy Policy explains how PlanPals ("we", "us") handles information on www.planpals.org. It's written for the grown-ups. Last updated 2026-07-26.
The short version
- The planner runs entirely in the browser. Plans (activity names, times, notes) are saved only in the browser's local storage on your device โ nothing is uploaded to us, and we can't see them.
- No accounts, no sign-up, and no forms that ask for personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- We use Google Analytics to understand overall site usage, and Google AdSense to show ads. Because PlanPals is made for kids, we treat the site as child-directed: it is tagged for child-directed treatment and ads are served on a NON-personalised basis.
Children's privacy (COPPA and similar laws)
PlanPals is directed at children and families. We designed it so that no personal information needs to be โ or can be โ submitted through the planner. We do not knowingly collect, store or share personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). Ad requests from this site are flagged for child-directed treatment, which tells Google to disable personalised advertising and limit data use to what's needed to serve and secure the ads (such as frequency capping and fraud prevention). If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies we use
Cookies are small files stored in the browser. On PlanPals they come from two Google services:
- Google Analytics (GA4) โ anonymous-style usage measurement (pages viewed, device type, approximate location from IP). You can opt out across all sites with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google AdSense โ ad delivery. Served non-personalised for this site (see above); the cookies used are for basic ad operations rather than interest profiles. General information about Google's advertising cookies is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings โ the planner itself keeps working (your plan lives in local storage, which you can clear any time with the "Start over" button or your browser's site-data settings).
What we collect ourselves
Nothing through the planner. If a grown-up emails us at hello@planpals.org, we receive that email address and message and use them only to reply.
Your rights and contact
Depending on where you live you may have rights under the Australian Privacy Act, COPPA (US), or the GDPR/UK GDPR โ including asking what we hold (for the planner: nothing) and asking us to delete correspondence. Questions or requests: see the contact page.
